I'm getting the same hang on all maps.
I will try and post data if someone will very quickly brief me how or link me to said info.
Autocompleting missions bypasses hang.

Also, if you need any extra people to volunteer to work on tech trees, dialogue, etc. I might have some spare time in thanks for the awesomeness of this game.
