I am having the same problem as these guys.  The geoscape is in perpetual darkness though I will try to play with some of the settings to change that.  I also have no sound and my log file is showing that the game is unable to load ogg vorbis support and is not able to load any of the sound files.  I did have music during the opening movie but have yet to hear a sound after that point.  I'm able to play a mission just fine (it's just quiet). I read in another post to change the audio rate and have done so but still received no sound.

Love the updates you made and the game is working great other than those two problems (at least so far).  Thanks for all the hard work.
