Discussion / Suggestion: Save before enter

I know I'm dredging up old wounds with this one, but I know that sometimes I will get too tired to do a battle over, usually that's why I lost the battle once already, so a geoscape autosave before entering the battle would be really nice. Knowing I can just shut down and come back to the geoscape just before the battle started would be a life-saver.
Might also quieten the calls for a battlescape save, which I'm not majorly in favour of myself.
ETA: I've only played 2.2.1 so apologies if this has already implemented, or already suggested in a thread I've missed on the forum.
