If you read UFOpaedia....there is an explanation why PHALANX doesn't use guided anti-infantry rockets...aliens use tremendous amonut of ECM even on the ground, if it disrupts guiding systems of military rockets, it will definitely disrupt signal from this.

I believe that power armor is not implemented yet.

Anyway...AI is plain stupid and uses always acts the same way. Observe how it acts at different maps and very soon you'll be able to do most maps without taking any casualities. And also...grab medikits, and once your soldier takes a hit pull him down and heal him.

Three starting weapons don't have replacement and you might use them till the end: flamer, grenade launcher and machine gun.

I found plasma rifle very useful as close/midrange assault weapon. So I have one in my squad, otherwise I use just plasma pistols as sidearms for laser armed guys. And of course...every guy gotta have at least one plasma blade.

Just a question, how do you suppose to teach a soldier with no previous piloting training how to fly VTOL dropship in five minutes? It is not a car, yanno?

I wouldn't do that...imagine the disappointment when you move UGV on it.

Perhaps just add a wrecked lift at bottom of shaft. I can imagine aliens destroying those to cut some approach paths.

But the meson canon is actually an alien tech, so i guess that the people in area 51 (old or new) still have them and could use at anyone they choose.

If we wouldn't know mesons, then it would mean that we don't have those canons either.

The meson canon shoots a ball that when it gets too much particles in itself, the ball disintegrates leaving nothing in a specific area, including its captives...

What you wrote here is from a game. Just a "hey, we programmed a really cool looking gun, it needs some cool sounding name". Nothing except the particle name actually comes from reality.

Yeah, but why the option is war all the time there is something new? Why can't people just accept it? A lot of lives would be saved.

Got this one messed up. Rapid technological advancement is an effect of wars, not cause. Both in nature and human society, pressure from competiton is main drive of advancement.

My inclination would be that how the plasma blade would be used by the human side would be by using a modified shotgun shell as a sabot or the like.   Production would take a small bit of time but one plasma blade each.  Greater range and accuracy than throwing.  Use in a mini-shotgun for an extremely nasty, compact close-assault weapon; sure, reloads would be scarce, but you would be using this to e.g. back up a FT, GL or both.

Interesting idea...I'd probably go for something like M-72 L.A.W. shooting hollow-point rockets with plasma blade inside instead of warhead...trigger in the tip of rocket would activate the blade inside, and boom...

I wouldn't think that reload would be that scarse...in my game, I have already captured over thousand of plasma blades...

Current AM use/gain model is weird, since to get AM, you cannot use it, as it is only obtained from landed UFOs. So, you shoot down anything smaller than harvester, but that is possible with only Saracens...so where is the point?

She, actually....and still, it wasn't as good day as the one when she scored total of 6 kills with various weapons...GL, laser pistol and plasma blade.

Crashed harvesters are shining example how predictable AI is.....especially when starting on the undamaged side of harvesters, aliens will grop at one point...one time it ended with my grenadier scoring 5 kills in one turn.
