Actually, theres a techinque called UV Mapping. Im sure you know of it. A map of the UV Texture points is created, usually in a photosop format, and the image is edited there. It wouldnt be an issue to do that and just overlay the camo over the UV map, save, rinse, repeat. If I can get the model into Maya, I can create the UV map in a matter of clicks and save it as something you can open.

Actually, thats a good idea. In the X-COM game, in the alien bases/UFOs, the fuel wasnt stored in a single, giant container, but in several smaller containers. If damaged, they sometimes blew up surrounding containers, and sometimes didnt.

In all technicality, your being ripped off. Even if the developers have been baught out, the products are long un-supported. The owning company receives nothing. Such games are classified as "abandonware", and are free. No one is loosing any money.

another thing, Desert camo tends to be heavier on tans, beige and light browns. Last I saw, there isnt any black in it. Just trying to help accuracy

Besides, it's not like the forum isn't full of references to XVI as well.

First time Ive seen it.

Anywho, debating it would be off-topic.

Im just the animator. I dont spend hours purusing the wiki.
And I doubt many others will either.

what is XVI? You havent said what it is.

Discussion / Re: Power Plant

From what I understand, anti-matter or not, it still reacts to magnetic fields, which is why strong magnets can contain in and prevent contact with non-anti-matter. Ofcourse, it has to be in a vaccum or else oxygen will cause the reaction.
But this is where the biggest thing comes from. The magnet is stronger than any that is naturally found on earth (Its an electro-magnet), and so it needs a constant supply of power, or else it will loose magnatism. Any naturally-ocuring magnets probably wouldnt even be strong enough in an emergency

Does the game differentiate between forced to land and crashed? This could mean the difference between more aliens to kill, and shorter time the mission is available on the Geoscape, and fewer aliens and a longer availability time.

Q1: How do I actually enter the string(s) to enter at the console ? Cut&Paste doesn't seem to work here :(

There is a file that is the consol log. On Windows, its Documents and Settings/Application Data/Ufo dev

As for the map, I have come across this aswell, though sometimes the other stairs worked.

Feature Requests / Re: 25mm Gas Grenade
« on: June 24, 2009, 08:25:03 am »

and really, as gas is not lethal to civilians and all, you should develop a big gas bomb that covers the whole area and then send your team to pick up whatever there is to pick up, revive the civilians, and mission accomplished.

Logically, really good idea. Gameplay wise, very BAD idea. Why dont we just give you an Easy button thats better than the auto-mission?

It only takes 1 downed interceptor to figure it out. But if the shapes could be different UFOs (Later on in the dev, possibly)

Discussion / Re: Dual Wielding Pistols?
« on: June 24, 2009, 04:47:39 am »
thats why you reserve TUs.

I dont why people are still trying to pursue dual-wielding ranged weapons. The head devs said no, I, the animator, says no, and so do dozens of other people. Can we get this topic closed?
