Windows / Re: Aliens stuck

Which version are you playing? Haven't found stuck aliens for a long time.

Before lamenting about tough aliens... advance further in the game and encounter Aliens in medium armour armed with heavy needlers. ;) You can shoot these with amost everything (exceptions: PB-grenades from launcher, Coilgun, machine gun 25-round-burst) with hardly any or really no effect. :)  To make it even better: every hit of their weapon kills.

And to make it even better: Medium armored aliens appeard in hard mode around the 4th month. ;)

Grenade launchers kill almost everything in 3-round-burst, so they are highly efficient. Later with PB-grenades you can kill everything (eben medium-armour Mutons) with that burst. Single shots are mostly non-lethal.

If accuracy is a problem (which it actually is with many weapons), use the machine gun in 25-bullet-burst. It hits and it kills pretty much everything at almost every distance.

SMGs are okay, too... in long bursts.

And snipers are only good, if the sniper skill of your character is sufficient. Since there are no aimed shots in reaction-fire mode, he needs to be pretty good to hit.

Watch the stats closely and use the right weapons with the right skills, this is my advice.

They don't exist any more. :) Hospitals work without them now,

DLing at the moment, just a question:

Muton: "W2k+XP store gamefiles as user at C:\UFOAI-2.3-dev"

Must I put the game there or can I install it to another drive? Problem is that my C: is pretty full all the time.

Looks human-built and some of the installations (radar, command Center) are visible. I recognize the base intuitively. So, well done! ;)

I like the alien base model. I was thinking about how to do it because these bases should be normally well-hidden, but one can't model a well-hidden building and place it on the geoscape. So I think the approach (designing something that looks "alien" and "futuristic") works quite well! :)

It looks futuristic (and in my opinion quite solid, not just like a "tent" or just camoflage nets). Yet it doesn't look stable enough to survive an air-to-ground bombing by ufos (which sometimes happens in the game), so I think it fits quite well in my imagination. ;)

@Destructavator: Of course this solution would be even better. :)

Just a small note: Staying inside the craft isn't really safe. I got shot in there many times. Often your dropship is the only available cover (if your pilot chose a bad landing zone). So I think it's not necessary to introduce "no experience"-zones around the dropship because its not really secure even in the last corner of it. =)

Andy - who has often been pinned down in his own dropship by tons of enemy fire.

Actually the radar station that I was guarding while doing military service had almost exactly the shape of the model. Don't change it, I think it looks perfect.

Up to now automatic but they will be changed in the future.

And it is normal that your aircraft are shot down in the beginning. You can only win against the scout ships (the smallest) without the good (alien) weapons.

Great. I thing that tells people intuitively that this is a radar station. :)

Actually they have armour on. I have the same bug. There is definitely protection even if it is not displayed. :)
