Sadly I have no such skills... Anyway, thanks. I only wonder why I encountered less than 10 aliens during the battle while I'd already searched most of the rooms so the question is: what are actually aliens doing to stop the attack? I also remember version 2.4, where aliens' turns were much faster...

Thanks, but this is definitely not an option for me, because actually I like the concept of alien bases so much that I want to PLAY IT and not do other things and checking the game from time to time.

Hi everyone,

I have attacked the alien base for the first time and it turned out that alien's turn lasted about 4-5 minutes. Considering the size of the map I'm worried that I won't be able to endure playing 1-2 minutes and then waiting 5. Could you please advise me what can I do in order to reduce the time needed to wait?

The problem is that despite playing campaign in 2.4 I haven't reached XVI yet and I play it for the FIRST TIME.

Thank you for explaining it without spoilers, but the problem is that some kind of spoilers are inserted in the game, because when I opened statistics to check funding, I noticed the full name of XVI so now I have an idea of what it is. Of course it isn't a big spoiler since anyway I will probably receive this event message soon, but still it is... Please do something with that so players after me would avoid such situation.

I also experienced all aliens assaulting power plant, but it also took a lot of turns for them to gather. Maybe I should try with shooting down the harvester, but I tried it once with 2 stilettos and despite my efforts I didn't manage to outrange it and lost my aircraft (of course I was using sparrowhawks).

Thank you very much, but the problem is that I've already known about cameras and power plant... It still contains too many turns in which nothing happens... Actually base defense was better in 2.4, but in this version there weren't cameras. Despite that it was better because aliens were attacking. Now this battle is totally spoiled and not having the option to skip it annoys me the most because I can skip every single battle, but not the one I don't want to play.

Hi,

My base was attacked for the third time and I can say that this is THE WORST type of battle in the game and I HATE it so much. Why? Because the map is so big and the aliens are spread far away from each other so that means more time is needed to kill them all, but the worst part is that they behave in such strange way that they actually often are wandering around or even standing near spawn point and aren't going to attack, so I have to attack them (which is so weird because they are the invaders in this battle) and getting to each alien is soooo long that the battle is so boring, because it mostly consists of many turns in which I have to rush forward and then wait for the aliens to move two tiles or even go further from the base. I don't know how much time has to pass till I will gain the strength and will to go through this battle. I think that Al should be reprogrammed in order to work better during base attacks because now it is terrible for me. Also option of auto mission should be available to help me skip these painful hours of the game.

Discussion / XVI and new ships

Hi,

Today while playing I've encountered two new alien ships. The problem is that the names of them aren't displaying while I can see names of scouts, fighters and harvesters. I also discovered new button in the right panel called "XVI" map", but it doesn't show anything interesting and there are no research projects connected with this button or new ships. Please tell me if it is a bug or I have to wait or do something, because now I'm not sure what should I do.

P.S. Please save spoilers for yourselves. I only want to know what to do with this button and new ships.

I wouldn't say so. It's rather because I have problems with expanding and covering more lands (it's natural for me to go slowly and defend - I can easily repel even the hardest attack if managed to find good position while even a simple assault can cause problems to me, because of flashbangs, smoke grenades, close combat and all this stuff). I also find it difficult to build fleet strong enough to shoot down the harvester. At least in short period of time.

I would like to try harder levels but even in normal I have big problems with keeping nations happy. Maybe it'd be better if you could choose difficulty level for campaign and for battle separately.

Thanks for your feedback, it seems that you were right, because after some battles the happiness increased, but it also stopped growing a few more times, but only if no UFOs and missions appeared for a longer period of time.
