Hi,
This is a repeat of #9157.0, but I got a pop-up saying it's over 120 days old and to consider a new post. I downloaded 2.5 from Sourceforge (using the link found in the "Download Tab.) I'm using a Dell Latitude 5590, Windows 10 Pro, and i5-825OU, 64-Bit (wondering if that might be the issue?), Intel UHD Graphics 620, Intel driver 24.20.100.6286.
I load the game, get the splash screen, the get the GUI with empty frames and no text, except for "UFO: Alien Invasion" in the upper left corner (see attached screenshot). I've tried reloading the game, loading to a different directory, no luck. Hoping to get this resolved before I get underway. Thanks for you help.

I'd try enabling texture compression, lowering video settings. If I'm right it has something to do with Intel GMA...

I apparently already had texture compression enabled, but cycled without any luck - it's difficult to tell without any text (I'm using a good install on another laptop to figure out what the selection boxes are.) I apparently lowered the resolution - now everything is big (mouse pointer is huge). Unfortunately, whenever I click anywhere, the game window is minimized...

As a test I tried loading ver 2.6 and ended up with the same issue - frames with no text in them. A lot more frames, mind you, but since there's no text I don't know what they're for...

it seems it can't read the system's locale, and I assume it is not loading the translation files because of that, try running with ufo.exe +set s_language en (or your preferred language code) and see if that helps

Gave the above a try (+set s_language en), but no change - still the empty frames.

What if you set the language in the console? <Shift>+<Esc> To open the console, then type set s_language en, <Esc> to close the console
Also could I see the new ufoconsole.log after trying to set the language manually (either from console or arguments)? May shed some more light on what is happening.

I tried loading set s_language en from the console, and that didn't change anything.
Of note, I did some looking around, and in the config.cfg (attached- don't think there's anything personal in there besides my name) is a line reading 'set s_language "en" a'.
Attached is the console log from after I manually tried the set s_language en from console.
Of note, there are a lot of "no translation for xxxx.txt" at the end of the log - don't know if that's significant or not...
Thank you for taking the time to look into this. I had somewhat given up, which resulted in my delayed response. Now I know you're working on it, I'll be paying much more attention.

The "no trranslation" warnings are not related to the problem (and completely harmless).
Please share your ufoconsole log, system language settings and video card type. Thanks!

I have the same problem. Did you resolve it? Is any earlier version working for you?
