I downloaded the game two days earlier and have no problems playing it on Win 8.1 x64. However when playing rev. 2.4 before upgrading from Win 7 x64 I had a similar bug as the firewall (Comodo) popped up in the background to ask for permissions. On other games I just switched to the Desktop, gave permissions and brought the game back to front, but UFOAI crashed. Maybe this helps.

And the more it will help if the game crashed?

In my case I just added ufo.exe to trusted files in the firewall settings. In this way there was no blocking/popup and I could play the game. However, I do not know if this is really your problem. The log files seem quite short compared to my last one.

Actually the log file seems to be truncated / not flushed. Probably because you had to end the hanging exe.
Can you do skirmish ?

No, skirmish not worked.
what kind of hanging exe? Where it is placed.
Connecting to a network is not necessarily for the game, it's on the site indicated.
Begins when an attempt to load the battle, the game loads the CPU at 100%
When I run the program created by me in Visual Studio, I have no problems running.

This game does not work without Internet connection?

You don´t need to be connected to the internet in order to run the game.

All he wanted to say is that the logfile is incomplete (and therefore useless). This is probably because you had to terminate the game (aka .exe file on WIN).

"It's all the log when trying to start the mission was the same when you try to change the nickname, when there were question marks.

The operating system caches the logfile, therefore while the program is running the end of the log will only be in memory. There is a way to work around this. If you start the game with parameters +logfile 2 it will flush the cache on every written line. To do this on windows easily you may need to modify the shortcut adding the parameters to the commandline it starts.

this log is still cut in the half and the last entry is the quicksave. So I don't see where does it break.

The ufo.exe +logfile 2 trick should make it correctly written to disk..

Another thing we can try is to reproduce the issue from your savegame (if possible). For that obviously we need the savegame (slotX.savx where X is the number of the save slot in the menu)

If you check the end of the log it is obviously broken in the middle of a line. :(

I hope someone can reproduce the issue with your savegame (I don't have the game with me here).

When you load the battlemap using roaming?
Appdata is placed on a profile with non-English nickname

What do you call that file where the prescribed path connecting mission?
Maybe I'll find the answer there.

Addressing happens every time that there must be recorded in the log instead of a cliff?

2014/07/06 00:54:58 File 'save/campaign/slot1.savx' successfully loaded from compressed xml savegame.

And I wanted to address another possible issue. Obviously the game exe hangs and cannot write the log file properly to an end. On Windows this may be due to a blocking by some firewall/sandbox/etc. software that has rights to block lower-level programs. In my case on Windows 7, the firewall software from Comodo stopped ufo.exe and waited for my user input. Unfortunately this worked not as intended and the game crashed. Then I added ufo.exe to trusted files in Comodo so that Comodo did not ask for user input anymore. Of course, I could have also set ufo.exe to permanently blocked files as well. Important is to exclude the firewall from stopping the software.
