Dear all,
I've spent considerable time putting toghether and training a nice team in a "simple campaign" just to find out that it does not allow me to finish the game due to the lack of UFO's and alien material. Now I'm with the problem of how to "turn" my save from Simple to Full campaign. Any ideas?

As far as I can judge it is above all about transfering your soldiers and your bases into an advanced stage of a full campain. I'm sure someone in the designers will help you.

Try the one attached here, I just hacked the subsystem number to be able to load it in the full campaign and resaved, there are no warranties at all, this has never been done before AFAIK, but you don't lose anything giving it a spin, right? (And I'm curious if it will work)

It seems to have worked. Thanks allot!
By the way, the full campaign in UFOAI is much more interesting. I don't remember the original UFO being so "mean" on our aircrafts (including the one with the soldiers).

What's the difference between simple and full campaign, anyway? It would be nice if it told you somewhere in-game.

AFAIK simple is just a series of pre-set ground missions. You have no need for interceptors, there aren't any random missions.
