From a base in the Middle East, I focused on bases in South America and Alaska, and each time I loaded a game while focused on that base, the geo screen would zoom, pan and tilt wildly, and seem to strike a particular point past which it could not go. At this point, it would bounce back and forth until I exerted control with the mouse.

please, provide savegame, both .savx and .sdmp files.

Mattn, may be, I just don`t fully understand the problem by description.

This may be similar to behavior I've seen. Try starting a new campaign, exiting, starting a new campaign again and repeat that a dozen times or so. You may see behavior where the geoscape goes completely haywire, zooming in to max and back out to max several times per second and may also end up zoomed much farther in than it should, ending with the view inside the geoscape and everything transparent. When you assest mouse control, you usually get it back to normal in a few moments, but zooming in and out after that may be stepped instead of smooth.

This is probably an issue with the smooth scrolling. I poked at that not too long ago. See MAP3D_SmoothRotate.

do we save POV information in the savegame?
I think the better way it to save it and restitute it when we load the game.

At one point the globe was upside down, and I could not right it. Once I zoomed out, it resolved itself.
