Hey !
Unfortunately it is not possible to get upstairs once again.
I experienced this bug in different maps, wanted to make a screenshot, but I do not where or if it is saved when I press F12 ?!
Also I cannot activate First-Person-View or is this feature disabled ?!

Yes, it was completely removed.

Thanks, mattn !
I was searching in the ufo:ai folder for the screenshots...
So here they come :
P.S.: Why is First-Person-View removed, I think it would be a nice feature & different viewpoints are the great benefit of designing something in 3d ?! I think this feature should be enabled again !!!
-
And what`s name of this map? Is it "office"?
-
Sorry, do not know the name of the map ::), but it happened in other maps too, like in Base-Defend for example...
I think it has nothing to do with the maps themselves, but with other changes !?

A map-maker's conceit, perhaps, but I'm all for the removal of first-person view! It's enough work designing for the top-down view, and lets me spend time on the details that will matter from that view.
-
Maps are optimized for top-down view, so many bottom and even vertical planes is not seen in isometric was marked as nodraw and is not drown at all. So first-view will be just ugly.
-
Tested ufoai-2.3-dev-28692 & the bug regarding the stairs is gone :D

When I'm playing UFO:AI, the first thing for me to do is change the perspective with 'del' when the battlefield is opened, this looks & feels much better for me than the view from top-down...

I understand that, but I am still imagining pressing 'v' & the camera flying into the head of my soldier who sees the alien standing in front of him - eye-to-eye 8)
For me the big benefit of 3d graphics are moving, zooming, turning cameras & many different viewpoints...
But I understand the problems from a designer's perspective also...

I've got just the same bug in ufoai-2.3-dev-28693. (taken here - http://ufoai.ninex.info/forum/index.php?topic=2830.msg34404#msg34404)
And it is somewhat problematic to complete missions with UFO Harvesters - they are 2-storeyed, as you remember, and it's tricky to lure the crew out to get a chance to score a hit or toss a grenade.

I agree with Mungojerrie: Harvester-Stairs are broken again in Muton's latest build (= 2.3. ver28693)
I add screenshot.
One can move onto the first step of the stairs but the rest is noct climbable.

I've had the same problem with the latest build. Corrupter/harvester stairs are unpassable for the player but sometimes work for aliens (rarely). Also barn and house stairs have become unusable. But on the plus side the latest build is running much faster then the previous one.

Just ran into this same problem using the same build (on one of the rural maps--the "Farm" one IIRC). I'm planning on d/ling a later build (r28896) to see if it's fixed, but until then (or if I can't d/l it for some reason) are there any workarounds I could use through the console?
-
Sorry, no workarounds.
Get a newer build.
-
For me, getting a new build was not enough. Had to manually delete all my maps, svn up and build all maps again.
PS On the side topic of no "v" view any more. It was very handy for getting a on the ground view of the terrain. Hills etc is quite hard to really get a good understanding of exactly how much they hide when you can't get a view parallel to the ground. Topdown and other angles available makes it very much of a guessing game.
