Title: 2.2.1 Questions

So I've been reading the wiki and looking for some information to help me understand the game for the past two days now and there are still some things I want to ask.  I am still very newbie to the game so please try to explain why.

1) IR Goggles-  From what I've read, to use them in 2.2.1 you basically have to use it in your hand like other things but do the goggles affect my accuracy or anything if I wear them as a headgear?

2) For Assault Weapons which is the better overall?  Bolter, Laser, or Particle (Or should particle be used as a sniper?)  (Please explain why)

3) For a regular base (not specialize in any way like production/research/etc) what is a good build and how many worker should I have.  Or instead tell me what is a good build for a regular base like how many of each building. 

4) If I don't tell my workshop to build anything manually will anything be still built?

5) I've read on the wiki about laser defence I think, do I have to wait for a proposal to get that cause currently my defence only shoots missile. (Although that's what I'm guessing from reading I haven't tested it yet)

For now this is all I have to ask.  Thank You

1. They don't do anything in 2.2.1 and neither in 2.3 if I haven't missed anything. It will take some time until the visibility system is implemented and they can actually do something.

2. From memory I'd say first go for lasers and then to particles when you have enough ammo. Lasers because they allow good range, damage for only few TUs and particles because their very good damage. All of this is from memory since I haven't played UFO:AI for some time.

5. It isn't implemented in 2.2.1 yet.

3) One of every building you need. You don't need labs and workshops if you just want to start dropships from there.

Hello,

I need help with UFO A.I Verison 2.2.1, is there a way (cheat etc) to remove the timelimit?
The Game ends at 2085 April or so.

It doesn't stop on a specific date IIRC. You should find out why does it end.

A message appears: Gratulation for Victory or so, play now the Multiplayer mode.
I come back from the TODO Mission and the game ends. I reaload an can Play forward, but no more Enemies comes to me. Its still around the Earth. Its so frustrating, I have some Unteroffiziere and some other good stuff. Im afraif about new Missions with my good Soldiers and then this...^^ ;D

I dont defeat them all. The Game Ends abruptly in the Storyline.

I playd the game new from Begin.
I read in this forum all ten live Aliens I become a new Technology.
Ten Aliens new Technology.
Twenty Aliens nothing?
At this time I have fourty living aliens, an nothing new apears.
Is this a Bug?
I have the Aliens in a Base without Labors.
And in a other Base 5 Labors.

They should be on the same base,  Labors and at least 10 aliens.

Yes and so I become all the the Alien Mind Technolgies. But i have only the first Alien Body Technology.

Sorry, I don't know how far can you go in 2.2.x . I assumed you checked if that '10 alien' info on forum was for 2.2.x too. I didn't check.

Sorry about this Doppelpost.^^
But i managed with the Problem and get all the Technologys, without the Technology Deuterium Missiles.
Storyline comes to the point that all the Earth Nations make Blood Controls about the Alien Virus.
But no more UFOS comes on the Earth, only Terrorattacks.
I have 7 Bases and see the Complete Earth. I wonder why.???

Wow, lots of questions all at once. Have you fond your answers yet?  I can help with a couple.

1) IR goggles shouldn't effect accuracy when worn on head, just take fewer TU to utilize than when in pack and saves room in pack.

2) I prefer laser for accuracy, weight and ammo, but that might also just be the way I paired them up with my troopers' stats.

3) Early bases get one of each with a couple of living quarters and storage.  Later bases tend to get more of the advanced buildings like alien containment.

4) You can queue items to be built automatically, but you do have to provide the initial input.

5) And yeah, laser defence is inactive thus far.

All of this is so unless I am wrong!.. then, it is not so.
