Title: 2x2 Armor?

Someone mentioned there was going to be 6 or 7 different suits of armor eventually? I checked out the wiki but it is a little sparse. Are there any plans for 2x2 armor suits? That could be kinda cool, have a "big guy" suit stomping around!

The seven suits are all for soldiers. They are light, medium and power armours, upgraded variants thereof, and the jumpsuit.

UGVs will of course have armour, but not in a customizable way.

Nope. That's not part of our plans. I'm not even sure if it's possible with the current code... To mod in something like that you'd have to add support for actor size depending on armour.

Being a non coding dude, what you are saying is that you guys will not include an soldier who can switch from 1X1 to 2X2 depending on what armor it is wearing? How about 2x2 drones that can learn (gain xP)?

In the stock game, robots can't learn. That's the whole point about them. They're meant to be disposable. As for modding this in, it will require a code change, but it should be fairly straightforward. We don't have 2x2 units at all yet, but I imagine the experience code will simply skip them. So all you'd need to do is remove the check, and they'll learn just like soldiers.

so 2x2 actors composed of a PHALANX member (UGV ecluded) is the realm of modders?
