Actually, its a real live recording of a pig death, but I've cropped and mixed a little bit.
The original Pig Death sound came from the Freesound Project, by dobroide.
Download a 6 pack of samples here: http://www.soundportfolio.com/downloads/horror/alien-death-pack/details.php

that is a truly disturbing noise. well done :)
as a matter of principle, i think death's should be quieter than injuries. you don't have the energy when you die. lungs collapse, a soft sigh comes out.
i think this is a good _injury_ noise.
-
I like it, either as an injury or death noise. We'll definitely use it.

Should I proceed to prepare more samples in this vein?
btw the original sound was _truly_ disturbing.

Sure, they'll always come in handy.

True at first glance... For humans.
Some of these aliens don't even have internal organs... They might not even feel pain. But the scream could be a final warning shout to other nearby aliens, or the sound of its highly pressurised internal ventilation system being expunged...
Besides, screaming death sounds cooler, if not realistic.
-
They're kinda cool, sounds a bit like a horse in a slaughterhouse for a few of 'em. It'll be atmospheric but not what I initially pictured thier dying sounds as. 'I'm pissed and here I come' sounds, maybe... battle cries.
Cool though.
-
use 'em for whatever :)
-
I can't seem to download anything from here. It just keeps giving me the Page Not Found Error 404 or whatever it is.
Any help?

That link must be old, since before I changed servers.
Also the servers appear to be down - I've contacted admin to get this fixed.
-
I contacted the server administrator yesterday but it's still down... Along with the rest of his sites.
Looks like his server's crashed. Good job I did a backup two days ago.
-
The servers are back up, the correct link is http://www.soundportfolio.com/downloads/horror/alien-death-pack/details.php
(I've fixed the link in the original post too)
-
I've moved back to my original servers, after this crash I lost everything going back 3 weeks, but I think my original servers were far more stable.
Sorry about that.
-
the death sounds are also in our svn - see http://ufoai.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/ufoai/ufoai/trunk/base/sound/aliens/
-
Thanks matt, I forget about SVN!
Anyway, now the server crap is sorted out I should be able to get back into writing sounds and music... finally!
-
nice to hear that ;-)
