As of v2.6, it's very hard to tell the exact range of radar coverage when pressing the appropriate button.
I think that if the radar-covered area were circled in red that would help a lot.
-
The UI is a work in progress in 2.6. I'd play 2.5 it is done. 2.5 does have lines showing the radar coverage.
-
This is not a FR, it's a bug. At least I don't know of any decision to take away the radar lines. Please file a bug report on the tracker for it.
And no, this is not a UI2 thing, it is renderer related. Maybe an SDL2 issue.
-
I approximately remember the time when it has gone. Should I bisect? :)

You're welcome! :)

Sorry for posting in the wrong place, Duke - I remembered that v2.4 used to feature radar lines and I assumed they were removed on purpose.
Glad to hear the problem was fixed!
Thanks :D

Np. It wasn't the wrong place. It's just that I 'upgraded' your FR to a bug.

FR: how about marking both radars and missile ranges, in different colors, and showing both while placing an installation? This would help a lot.
In case of new defence weapons, on preview show ranges of the default and currently existing weapons, as concentric circles.
Same with building bases, both for base defense weapons and radars.
