Hi all,
Somehow battlescape went FUBAR. I'm using current maps ( downloaded from official location ) and current sources ( HEAD ) . I verfifyed it on 2 boxes ( desktop with current sources, and laptop with state from 2.8 ). No visible problem in logs, just black screen or some garbled images ( and slow ) I'm attaching savegame in question ( try terror mission to repoduce )
Additional information:
ko5tik@debian:~/.ufoai/2.5-dev/base$ uname -a
Linux debian 2.6.32-5-amd64 #1 SMP Sun May 6 05:12:07 UTC 2012 x86_64 GNU/Linux
BTW, is there a key to kill battlescape on the spot?

what about shaders? did you try to disable them?
-
Shaders are set to medium quality ( I attached config to previous message )
-
yes, but you said it's black - and did you try to disable the completely to get a screen at all?
-
OK, disabling shaders on helps on laptop with sources from 2.8 can not check right now on desktop -
it is recompiling maps.

You can download latest precompiled maps with script contrib/map-get/update.py

OK, disabling shaders helped. Thanks

Confirming same problem in Oct 24th 2.5 on Windows 7. Shaders worked fine in 2.4.
Is this a temporary bug or are shaders getting removed or no longer supported on some systems?
-
again - please attach the logfiles - we can't help without them.

Here's the logs after I just tried using shaders. I get either a black screen, or a black screen that flickers to the loading image or a garbled UI. The game hangs without fully crashing and actually locks up the system unless it's fullscreen. When it's fullscreen alt-tabbing out works and it can be manually closed.
