when using the grenade launcher with frag shells laoded, it sems like it has a range of 0 and the shell explodes on firing.
there are many small frags coming out of my soldier with a very short range towards the target... ?

I think its supposed to work like this - as a far more powerful shotgun.

but then why is there a grenade launcher needed when the grenade just explodes just in front of your head?
and how to manage, that the frags are only flying towards the enemy and not back to yourself?
and why is the explosion of the grenade not hitting (or killing?) yourself? ^^

It's meant to make the grenade launcher act as a primary fire weapon so you don't have to take along another weapon for that purpose.

but it act as a grenade detonater, not a grenade launcher...
thermal grenades and incenediary grenades are first launched and explode either on impact or after time...
frag grenades explode instant on launch -_-

Thanks to this thread and BTAxis, I now remember the advantages of carrying some of these babies.

Question: do you have to wait until you deplete your "normal" grenades before you can switch to this type of ammo? If the answer is "no" how do you switch? (I normally finish a battle before I deplete any of my soldiers' "magazines".)
