Playing Muton's version ufoai_2.3-dev_23753...I ran into a funny thing regarding rxn fire!
Rxn fire seems to work okay, allowing the aliens a fair chance to fire back but I notice the following:
1.) Alien A is equidistant from Ensigns Dead Meat and Gunna Bite-It. Deadmeat heroically fires twice at Alien A, hitting both times with the second shot eliciting a return shot from Alien A. Dead Meat survives!
Gunna Bite-It, due to line of fire problems (but not line of sight), moves to a better position, each step taken eliciting reaction fire from Alien A not upon Gunna Bite-It but instead the unfortunate Dead Meat. Dead Meat is shot at least 4 times more.
I guess the point I am trying to make is that rxn fire works well (i.e. allows aliens to try to kill humans) but the targeting seems off? Is this really an issue or the way it is intended to run? If this is the intended procedure then I apologize.

at least the same thing can happen the other way round.
-
This is indeed intended bahavior. Alien reaction fires triggers on a player move, but the aliens need NOT necessarily fire on the soldier who is in fact moving. Any target in the LOF of any alien with TUs left is fair game (but not civilians).
-
Alright cool.
-
bad luck for me, it seems, 'cause personally I absolutely don't like it. You get one poor guy into LOS of an alien - when he would be shot then, ok.
But since you can't move back, any following step of your team members is most likely to kill him! Best one can do at this point: end the turn and hope YOUR RF is better than theirs...
This really doesn't fit my view of a "reaction" (Seeing a movement and firing there). This is more like "aiming at an enemy and pulling the trigger each time I hear a noise around me"... ;)
-
I know what you mean, I was never really a fan either.

*yikes*
I dun like it either....
I tot in real warfare, when u trigger reaction fire = reacting to this new threat?? Hmmmm......

...so there's hope this could change again in the future? *phew* :)

Well no. It's done and dealt with. You're going to have to live with it.

damn...

Ooooo, Darn. lol.
So tat means the alien can typically pin someone in his sight whilst his silly colleague attempt to run towards this alien geek and fire him? hmmm.....
Then again, question on this alien's reaction fire..... does that mean he can fire alot of times
OR
is this lil alien bounded by the amount of TUs also??
-
They're bound by TU's, obviously.

Ah i should be more specific.
With the new change in TU usage, will the alien's TU for reaction fire be used from current's turn / nx turn TU??
Thanks BTAxis. :D

The rules for RF are the same for both sides, so they use leftover TUs.
