By the time you play through the game 2 or 3 times the aliens really start to get monotonous. They should start out with the weak aliens then slowly get new and better equipped aliens. There should be like a very strong version of the bloodspider that can move very far. Towards the end you should like start running into "the mother aliens babies" or something then bring down the mother ship and have to fight some huger alien.

Myself, what I would like to see would be aliens that really look alien, and what I mean when I say that is that the existing alien races tend to fall into the "people dressed up in costumes" type of look, very human-like in basic shape, with mostly joints in the same places that bend in the same directions. It would be nice to see some races introduced where if this game was a big-screen film production or movie, people in the audience would be impressed and think "Wow, there's no way that alien could be some actor dressed up in a costume and make-up! That...thing really looks alien!" Heck, most of the alien races in the game are even human-sized right now!
I have to agree, after playing numerous times, it would be nice to see more races, and some randomization with what comes first.

Models are welcome. You guys make it sound we pull them out of a hat or something.
-
Heh - you typed "hat" but I bet you were thinking a different word.
More alien variety would be nice, but as somebody without the skills to make any real contributions I'll be content with what we have.

Btaxis is right.
Its easy to make such suggestions, which is great, but this is an open source project which relies on free contributions.
If you know a modeler that could produce such a model then thats great, otherwise don't be supprised if it never happens.

Yeah, I guess you're right (all of you), now that I think about it.
I've actually spent bits of time learning Blender here and there - If I tried to come up with something are there specific guidelines or rules for the model format, size, etc.?
-
You should ask that in the artwork forum.

I have a copy of 3DSMax and am teaching myself to do 3d modelling, if anyone knows of any good resources I could use to accelearte my learning. I possess traditional art skills aswell. I would love to contribute to something like this, I have already played the game a little and I love the XCom series.

Again, artwork forum please.
