Title: Laser camping

I find this especially effective on UFO crash sites. Just arm your troops with laser rifles (for their remarcable accuracy) and make sure those rifles are pointed at the UFO exit door. This works really well on some of the maps that have large open areas like the amazon.

Coilguns (2.3) are even better. Incredible accuracy, virtually unlimited range, and instant death.

I think you are talking about the UFO Supply Ship mission.
The other UFO missions (most commonly, Harvesters) have their side-doors opened. Then again, they have a backdoor which the aliens use most of the time.

Of course, snipers would serve the same purpose.
