Title: How to handle Base under attack?
Post by: mareks on July 13, 2008, 10:17:04 pm
I have base under attack in svn (last week update). I did not have any soldiers in base when base was attacked. How to get it back? It looks like this is not yet implemented but I ask to be sure that I did not miss anything. It is bad as my base is effectively blocked now, Thanks.

You can defend your base even if there are no soldiers - soldiers from your dropship will be temporary "teleported" there. However if you close the popup and don't go fightin' you cannot get it back. (At least I couldn't.)

The assumed result of failing to defend a base is that the aliens waltz in, strip everything, take what they can use and torch the rest.  Most likely with plasma.  There really isn't any incentive to re-capture a base, even though in theory the existing excavation may save some small construction time; the aliens already know where it is, are probably monitoring the area, and construction to the point of bringing the base to defensible status would take way too long.

Ok. Good to know for next time. Probably base should be completely destroyed in such case so that I can build new one. Thanks for info.

Theoretical question: if you had built all 8 bases and lose one, are you able to build a new one?
