Title: Vista, game crash when changing resolution.
Post by: SirMoric on May 31, 2008, 12:06:33 am
Okay, so far I've been able to activate full-screen in the game by starting it using the CMD-window.

The only problem I can't seem to solve, or find a solution to, is changing the resolution without having the game crash on me.

I'm using a 16:10 widescreen and trying solutions that fits it.

you can also do that  via commandline, or by changing your config.cfg - see our wiki cvar variables page for more information

changing config.cfg worked for me.

see the wiki FAQ if you need more details.

This is really a bad testemony to my skills with Vista, but I can't find the config.cfg?!?

I've tried looking everywhere... and it's simply not there.

the version is 2.2.1 by the way.

it's in your application data folder - see the faq (though i'm not sure vista has the same folder structure as xp)

I don't have it.....

I'm usually not that stupid using a computer, but I can't find either the config nor the app-folder.... Not even when using the search-function.

The game starts when I use the shortcut though.

in the filesystem explorer (hold down windows key and tap [E]) tools/options/view/show hidden files and folders/apply to all folders.

type

%appdata%

into the address bar of the filesystem explorer.
