I have tested the development version from mattn.ninex.info and the character's appearances were all white. A bug? (2.2 runs fine)
System:
-Intel Core2Duo T5500
-2GB RAM
-Intel Media Accelerator 945GM (8M, +120M shared)
(How to upload screenshot?)
-
I can't help with the bug, but to attach a screenshot click "reply" and hit the plus sign to expand "Additional Options..."
Just attach a graphic file from your local hard drive - at least that's what I do.
-
I also get the wrong resolution, but that is not as much of a problem to me. (1024x768x32, selected 1280x800x32)
Sreenshot: (sorry about repeat error)

Just confirming here, but you're on Windows, right? You have to be, since there aren't any Linux installers up on mattn.ninex.info, but you can never be too sure.
I think Intel graphics adapters are prone to causing trouble with UFO:AI. But you could try messing around with driver versions if you have that kind of patience.

I've seen this same bug on my desktop running Windows MCE with an NVidia Videocard, using NVidia's drivers, with the SVN version, although I can't remember what seemed to trigger the bug.
EDIT: I also remember something in the game's video settings that fixed this, but don't recall exactly how I made it go away.

Yes, I'm running Windows on this forum; Wine-ing UFO results in very high latency and low FPS.

try to activate texture compression and lower the texture resolution

What a coincidence! I just did that a few minutes ago... Thanks!
