Can I take this oppurtunity to say well done on the game. I played it a few years back and really didn't like it, but had another go recently and it has come on leaps and bounds. A very good little game.
Just a quickie
How do I build a new base?

The box in the lower left corner of the screen has three small tabs. When you hover the mouse over those tabs, they get bigger. One of them is called 'Create Base'.

Yeah, I worked out myself like a big boy, but cheers anyway.
Second question.
As far as I can work out there's no destructible terrain. Is this planned for the future? I did enjoy blowing my own doorways into places, and i found it added yet another layer of tactics

No. There will be minor destructability (fences, furniture), but a fully destructable environment is not going to happen. For more information, use the search.
