Title: uninstall
Post by: mac01 on February 02, 2008, 07:18:25 pm
My MacBook intel crashed while playing due to the battery running out. When i tried to play again most of the text in the game had dissapeard, emails etc.

Ive tried downloading a new version and deleting the files on my mac but the problems stay the same.

Is there a way i can uninstall and then reinstall ufo? I think there are some files form my old game somewhere as the game always starts off in full screen mode which i don't think is a defualt setting.

I loved this game as a kid and this version is better!

Thanks
Mac

there are already solutions for this problem in the forum - try to use the search function, or just dig the mac forum.

The only files that would get left behind are the game settings that get stored in your home folder under a hidden (in the unix sense of hidden) directory tree. The folder name is .ufoai and can be removed by opening the terminal and typing
Code: [Select]
rm -r ~/.ufoai
That said, the solution to your problem is to start the game, select a language, quit and restart immediately. I'm not sure why this works but it does.   :-\
