Title: minimize game on ubuntu(gnome)
Post by: lowang on August 16, 2007, 09:02:10 am
Hi,

is there a way to minimize a game window or swithc to another task ?

When I'm playing the game i'm not able to switch to my voip software and answer the call,
use browser or anything else.

I was trying to switch off fulscreen mode but even that I could see my other
apps running ALT-TAB wasn't working and my mouse cursor was bound to game window only.

open the game console and hit alt+tab - maybe also vid_grabmouse 0 (cvar - set via game console) is needed

you can also play the game in windowed-mode (via options menu or vid_fullscreen 0 cvar)

thanks, vid_grabmouse 0 in windowed mode do the trick  :)
afterthat i was able to choose other task by pressing Alt-Tab

Are you planning to add some auto-workaround to that later?

no, not really - because in windowed mode the focus is important, imo

but opening the game console will let you alt+tab out of the app without setting that cvar
