Title: Baking Bumpmap to texture.
Post by: sitters on June 15, 2007, 02:41:31 pm
For people that have Sinema4D and Photoshop it is easy to bake bump maps to textures.

First make a simple brick texture like this :

Save this texture and then desaturate the texture and invert it, then you have a texture like this :

In Sinema4D, make a single plane, and make a material with the Color texture of the brick
And the bump texture of the desaturate texture, make the bump texture 120% strong.

Then bake a texture named surface Color, and the result is this :

Maybe some people can use this

maybe we will implement bump mapping into the renderer - then we could really use bumpmaps for all our textures

If you do that, normal mapping isn't much a step away.
