Discussion / Re: Reaction Fire in 2.3 Build 28632
« on: February 21, 2010, 10:44:06 pm »
Hi,

I have used the search function, but none of the results seem to answer or give more information about the problem.

Also, just tried a mission on the Tropical drug map I think it was. I had a sniper with 22 TU, after going around a corner, he spotted an alien, yet it would not allow any shot, no reaction shot enabled and no reservation of TU's.

Discussion / Reaction Fire in 2.3 Build 28632
« on: February 21, 2010, 09:46:40 pm »
Hi,

I come back looking for some information on how this reaction fire works now in the version as compared to 2.2.1.

I have tried a map 10+ times because of what appears to be the extreme lack of the ability of a soldier to react to the movement or shooting on an alien who is in their line of sight.

I have for example, enabled the reaction fire and option, yet I can have aliens walk straight in front of 2-4 soldiers, and not one of them will react with a shot to the alien.

Any information is appreciated.

Windows / Re: All in one win32 build script

Hi,

Ok, I am becoming to get a little bit lost here, is there somewhere to download all the latest packages or software required to build the latest SVN's?

I will give the Codeblocks package update a try.

I have installed the Tortoise SVN to download the source code just in case it was something being caused by downloading using the script.

Thanks for the assistance so far.

Hi,

@ GIJOE317,

This link offers a tool/script to download the latest SVN/Development release, and perform all build process etc, just make sure to follow any and all instructions, and note that the game probably will be buggy, and also save games cannot be carried over from any previous 2.2 releases etc.

This link offers builds already pre-made, but not the most recent as they are built and uploaded my a member, and as such it takes time to download the +500MB source and content, then build, then compress to installer and then upload etc.

Hi,

I just tried again, but this time deleted and re-downloaded the tool etc so that the default settings are used, i.e. the ones that come from the package, without me changing any.

I get the same result as earlier

Added the log file again in case it is different.

Hi,

Well I am currently in the process of building the 2.3r28625 from the SVN as I type.

I will look out for the same problems when complete and testing.

Hi,

Well, with me being new to this, what would be the best settings to use with the build tool?

Hi,

I tried again to run another build off using this tool, only to be greeted with the same error message as above.

I have attached this time, the log file from the previous and this attempt to see if that helps get the problem resolved.

Hi,

I have also seen this on the stable 2.2.1 build.

For example bloodspiders getting stuck in desks etc.

Also, on a mission were the aliens are infection civilians with XVI, the one with the big UFO with 3 entrances on either side, some troops get stuck going back down the entrance ramps after entering and trying to leave again.

Hi,

Just thought I would download this and give the development builds a try out to try and bug-report etc.

Downloaded the source fine using this tool, SVN 28625.

On building I get the following message quite a distance through:

Quote
Error 16
C::B returned an error during G:\UFOAI Development\MinGW\ufoai\build\projects\ufo_ded.mod.cbp

I have pasted the following from the build log to see if it provides any information you guys might need:

Windows / Have I Finished 2.2.1?
« on: February 15, 2010, 10:31:43 pm »
Hi,

Just thought I would make a quick post to check this out cause I am not too sure myself.

I think I might have gone as far as possible in regards to this version of the game etc.

In the mail client, I have just completed the Extraterrestrial Viral Infection research and The Enemy on Earth I think it is called.

But now, I have 2 bases, and I do not have any UFO detections, Terror or any other form of missions etc.

Any response is appreciated.

Also I have attached a copy of the recent save file I use so incase anyone can check this to see where I am up to or what might have happened.

Hi,

I also forgot to mention, when I do change the resolution using the options screen in-game, when the resolution changes, the game just seems to exit, without any messages or anything.

Windows / Resolution Changes
« on: February 13, 2010, 04:22:52 am »
Hi,

I am trying to run UFO:AI 2.21 on Windows Vista Home Premium x64 SP2.

I have tried to change the resolution many times in the game using the options menu and saving it using the little magnifying glass, however when I re-launch the game, it seems to always reset to 1024x768.

The native resolution of my monitor is 1920x1080. Is it possible to set this, or something as close as possible using the .cfg file or using a commandline option?
