Title: Possible gamestopper bug (2.2 trunk rev 12241)
Post by: Kaerius on October 07, 2007, 07:31:45 am
After much reading of tutorials, mishaps, and so on, I managed to download the source, and compile it.

I managed to get the game running, build my first base, sell some stuff and build a lab...

However when I press the "Aircraft" button, it tells me I don't have any aircraft, with the options buy, produce or cancel. Pressing on buy shows me that yeah I have both an interceptor and a dropship... however I cannot get to the aircraft screen due to this bug, so I cannot equip the crafts, assign or equip soldiers, etc.

Did I mess up when compiling, or is this a just bug? I compiled with the prepackaged codeblocks compiler, set all paths as instructed, opened the ufo_workplace, and it compiled without errors.

Currently compiling maps... not exactly a fast process...

wait, are you really talking about your first base? or is it your second one? The 'buy' and 'produce' popup should only appear if you have no aircraft in current base, but the first base should get two crafts automatically - not the second one.

Yes the first base on the first day of a new game.

And yes I have my complimentary dropship and interceptor, it gives me the message that I have no aircraft anyway.

Excuse the size of the images...

Well, noticed the exact same trunk being available as a binary now, so I downloaded that and installed it, to check if the problem was due to me compiling wrongly.

Nope, sorry, the problem is there too.

"mn_base_num_aircraft" is "2"

PS: The console was REALLY difficult to get open... I had to switch to english keyboard and press keys at random until it poped up... ^ is shift+umlaut on my swedish keyboard.

Tested selling all I could, starting a secomd base, building a hangar, command centre, power station an storage there and buying an interceptor. Same problem.

You're not alone - I found the exact same bug with the Windows binary from the website.

I haven't had time yet to try compiling the latest SVN version though...

BTW, every time I try a new binary I completely uninstall the older version first, including config files.

It's the same for me, and I am using the latest SVN checkout.

Confirmed. Too bad I can't get rsync to work... so currently compiling maps... took me about 6 hours last time, can't seem to get it to use more than 50% cpu though...
