There seems to be quite a problem with Reaction Fire with this build.  :(

It seems as soon as you apply Reaction Fire to any of your soldiers, it tends to affect all other commands for that soldier especially if you try to reclaim the TU's by removing RF. Soldiers will not respond to move or fire commands in many cases.

At the moment, I am working through the early missions without using it, but it can be a great handicap without it.

For example a soldier with reaction fire set turns the corner of a building into the LOS of an alien. Apart from reserved TU's, Soldier hasn't enough left to either take cover, or get off a snapshot. He is stranded there until the next turn, when he is killed off by the alien.

2085 Aug 17 is the point in time and the error occurs each time I try to enter the base.

Dropship travels to base and when I arrive I get the option to Enter (no Auto mission available) When I click Enter - Get the Loading map message then console error.

Thought up a couple more suggestions while playing last night:

1.  A minimap on the Battlescape that includes colored dots to represent currently visible units, color-coded by type (probably something like blue for your soldiers, red for hostiles, green / white for civilians, and so on).

Try pressing the Home key in a mission..  ;)

2.  Flares.  During night missions, soldiers can throw / roll them like grenades to provide an on-the-spot light source, extending their vision.


Remember these in the Original game - but I don't miss them tbh.

thanks for testing - if you would find a reliable way to reproduce it, that would really help to fix it. are soldiers dying (dropping equipment to floor) - are you picking up things? reloading weapons and so on. everything might have an impact on the inv list.

There doesn't seem to be anything standard about this problem. It's quite difficult to find a possible common cause because it seems to be happening at so many different stages of a mission. Sometimes at the end of a mission, maybe in the middle of it, or like these 2 latest occurrences - right at the beginning.

This one is right at the very start during initialisation of the map. There was an error that said "Unable to set Reaction Fire" (or similar) then the game locked out.

This one is after taking the very first shot with a GL and killing an Alien.

I get this error too - but I thought it was something to do with storage at the bases:

I have since done a clean re-install, but the problem still exists - I have tested with a little success, by using the mission "Retry" facility. It's not consistant, but it occasionally happens after 4 or 5 reloads..

Still testing.

If I'm the only one to see this - I guess it may be that I installed latest build over the old one. So I'm going to do a clean re-install.  :(

OK - so I just had 2 Alien Fighters crash close to one of my bases. (2 Crash Sites)

Despatched DS and Killed all 5 Aliens at the first (closest) site.
Allowed Dropship to return to base for re-arming etc.. and saved game before despatching Dropship to the second Crash Site.

I lost 2 soldiers and decided to restart, but by using the Abort Game option instead of the Retry option.

When I selected the Options Screen and clicked on the Abort Button - The game froze up and this is what was on the console:

I have since reloaded the savegame and allowed 2 soldiers to be killed and used the Abort button again to try to reproduce the error without any luck.. I also reloaded the savegame and finished the mission by killing the aliens, but I didn't manage to reproduce the error in this case either.  :(

I have made backup copies if anyone wants to have a look at the saved game files.

This has occurred 2 or 3 times with missions on UFO craft brought down close to the base by Base Defences. Crashed UFO has 5 aliens.

When the last alien dies, console lists all the experience points gained (or not) for each member of my Dropship crew and at the very bottom, the error: INVSH_AddInvList: No free inventory space! is added and the game is locked. I have to use the Quit option on console to close the game.

I may have the game saved, so I will check and see if I can recreate the error.

Perhaps confusing this with Healing?? - You could choose different parts of the soldier's body then.

Guess you guys will have this covered, but when successfully completing a mission, the game locked with this error on the console:

INVSH_AddInvList: No free inventory space!

Restarted and checked my base storage facilities and 1 base was quite near the limits: 18140/20000

Ahhh....now you have posted it, I can actually remember it. Flashback ;)

As that icon is potentially copyrighted, we need something close, but not too close to it.
Any suggestions ?

Oh dear. I've just installed this build over the previous one supplied and it's removed all my previous saves. This didn't happen when installing the 28338 build over the 28213. Luckily I had my latest save backed up in a bug report. Anyone installing may want to do likewise.

It worked fine for me. :P I installed over previous version and told it not to remove savegames? They are still there.

Only other prob I had was with the intl.dll file. Had to copy it over from radiant folder - working again now..  ;)
