Well i got a idea today. Wouldnt it be possible to create a .bat (or maybe a simple wingui?) that does the setup automatical? So you just have to enter your "account data" and the clone path. Maybe another bat file for both commits types and for pull/fetch? I dont know - maybe its a dumb idea. Opinions?

@Origin
Thanks. :)

@H-Hour
Its relative easy to create ptl effects. You just have to go a bit through the material. Sadly there some things are missing or ill conceived like you cannot force non-weapon-bullet-ptls to point into direction it flys/moves or the actor faces. Oh and yes its realy easy to remove the fire. :)

@Bayo
ill see what i can do ;)

Side Note:  Does the *whole* *entire* system absolutely *have* to be in Git?  Could we leave the Data Source in SVN, or even have just the source code in Git?  If if was split than artists and other non-coders could very easily contribute and update their stuff, while the coders would have the code in Git and do what they need to there.

That were exactly my thoughts when i noticed the first time that git is total shit for artist stuff. ;) But i thought ppl would dislike the idea.

Here are some gifs of the new explosions. Because screenshots and pictures are not the best way to show the new particle effects i decided to make small gifs to show off the new effects. Be warned - the gifs haves a average size of 1,5 mb. So it may take a while if you dont have a fast internet connection.

Grenade Explosions
Rocket Explosion
Plasma Explosion

Fire

Feature Requests / Re: Music player with 'add directory (browse)' feature
« on: October 02, 2010, 02:41:16 pm »
Copy your music into ufoai/base/music. Then open the music.ufo with a txt editor inside the ufos dir (if you use a official release (like 2.3) its inside the ufos.pk3 - you can open them with a zip programm like 7zip or winrar). Just add your music name to one of the categories inside the music.ufo. Its realy simple so futher explanation should not necessary.

Nice! It reminds me of some old video games. :) Would fit to a first level of a space side scroller like Katakis or Z-Out.

On the particle test effect picture the realtime and dynamic lightning effects are deactivated because of the ATI bug. Also the new effects look mutch better in motion. If you mean the blue/bright explosion in the middle - it is a plasma explosion.

On our ModDB Game Profile you can checkout some more screenshots of the effects.
