Using Kubuntu 9.4, GeForce 9800, Amd phenom x4, 4 gigs of ram.
I compiled revision 24642 myself.
After I ended my first turn in the mission the game crashed, looking over the output it seems to be a problem with the civilians.

Ubuntu 9.04, 2 Gb Ram, Nvidia 7700 Go.

U mean autocombat? I don't think so, but usually I only receive alien breath aparatus...

Yeah i mean auto combat and i receive this breath apparatus too but i mean weapons or other stuff. I can't do the normal combat because the described crash to desktop.
Oh when you simulate a homebase combat you always win even if you soldier have no weapons.

I don't know if it's intended or some bug but yes, nothing beyond alien breath apparatus on auto mission.
The drawback of using automission (as far as I understood it) should be only not raising ur soldiers stats. If so, they should fix the no equipment gain soon.
As for the battlescape crashes, this is bug that insists to keep getting in the coders' way for quite some time now... :(
A little patience and it should be fixed sometime.
