Title: Stalingrad Revisited?
Post by: bri49 on June 22, 2008, 10:12:26 pm
It just occurred to me: wouldn't it be cool to have a map with manholes and sewer systems to descend into? Catch the aliens in some kind of underground hideout with weapons cache.

An alien underground hideout in a sewer doesn't make much sense from the story viewpoint. That doesn't mean we can't have a map similar to that anyway, though. However, before an attempt is made I think we should at least wait until ladder support is implemented.

BTAxis compared to that nightmare of a mine shaft you guys designed the sewers would be a piece of cake

I think that map was made before the current dev team took over, though.

Yes, the mineshaft was the scenario that gave me the idea. It would be cooler with ladders, though. It would give soldiers the ability to pop up in some dangerous area only partially exposed, take a pot shot and climb back down out of sight.

Speaking of pot shots are there any future plans to have aliens use more opportunity fire? There is only one or two scenarios I recall where you can get picked off by alien reaction fire.
