i highly oppose removing head shot- changing the name to precision shoot should be enough, as you can hit robot in a sensor,  or an exhaust, or even damage the cooling system

I see no problem with giving local militia ordinary assault rifles and shotgun rifles or a combat armour we start with, as SWAT teams normally use it, and in 2084 its probable that terror attacks and crime will get decent equipment forcing the law enforcement to respond accordingly. The main thing should be the AI for local troops- its really unlikely that this man would rush to hunt aliens, instead they will rather guard positions and try to cover civilians without putting themselves to risk, so crouch, hide, cover, reaction fire, and try to group in one building.
I wont mention the military base or convoy that be definition has strong security team armed to teeth with a sufficient firepower to raze down a small village.

On the other hand, aliens killed be locals would also reduce founds from that nation, as there is no point in paying phalanx if our own soldiers do the job better.

So its true that an AI always knows where my troopers are. I suspected that as aliens always rushed blindly from behind a corner and killed one of my man with a plasma torch or died trying from RF

right- one thing i forgot is the SMG- great weapon for short range combat. Assault rifle never worked for me though and in early game my storm troopers use ONLY SMG while supported by snipers

MG is a heavy weapon while assault riffle is assault (surprisingly:P). MG is good weapon on medium to long range (highly inaccurate though) In one mission i kept MG gunner in a window and held laid heavy reaction fire on area where bad guys tried to move- killed them before assault team got there. Id advocate against assault rifle at all- dont know why, but in current deb version its totally useless. Low accuracy terrible damage, and poor range. Go for lasers as soon as possible- actually heavy lasers are one of my favourites- i have at least 2 in every squad. HL is also another reason to use MG- training heavy weapons for future toys

After completing the campaign again i was wandering if it would be possible to loop the missions in next release. So if i end all maps and kill all ufo the terror attacks crash sites landing sites and so on would be generated again and again.

Maybe its not a big problem- I can always start a new game but still it would be nice feature to be able to maximize your squad and have a game for boring hours when there is no time to start everything anew.

As I said- it can be done by loading a game, and starting a new one- but would it be so difficult to make the mission generating script or whatever triggers them ignore time?

I also miss Warhammer 40k and i think ill soon try it via wine(another lovely invention for penguin lovers)

IMPORTANT- anyone has a Dungeon Keeper 1 game with dos4gw.exe or keeper.exe?
My ateptms to run it on wine failed and DK gold no longer has dos files.

I dont know how it is with other countries, but if you have a weapon wielding permission you can have as much as you bought in Poland. Still its very impractical- more ammo consumption with much much less accuracy. Waste of money IMHO.
On the other hand laser weapon has no recoil, so it in fact should be usefu...
