The Geoscape view has an incorrect texture right in the middle, where Asia is supposed to be.
Windows XP Media Center Edition
Pentium M 1.86 GHz (Dell XPS M140 Laptop)
DX9, I think
UFO AI 2.2 (just downloaded today)
I've attached a screenshot (sorry, PNG wouldn't fit under 512 K)

Wow. Is it always like that, or is that a one-time glitch?
-
Always, I guess. I just downloaded the game today, and it's like this every time I load. Tried a bunch of different options, as well (tex. resolution, compression, etc).
It's just me, huh? I'll try the linux version on my office machine, hopefully I'll have better luck with that one :-)

Well, it's not that way on mine. Those are 3 unrelated (and oddly chopped) textures replacing part of the map texture.
You might want to try turning on the 3D geoscape, with IIRC is under the "game" part of settings.
-
Interesting - if I get close enough to the 3D geoscape, the textures are normal. Looks like one of the mip-maps got messed up somehow.
Screenshot of 3D geoscape attached.

Are you downloading this from SourceForge, duckwizard? Could you post the URL you downloaded from?
-
Here is the precise URL I downloaded from:
http://superb-east.dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/ufoai/ufoai-2.2-win32.exe
The download was reached by accessing the main website (ufoai.sourceforge.net), Download section, "Grab it from the sourceforge.net mirrors" link, etc.

P.S. - slight texture issues aside, EXCELLENT work! This game does a great job of recapturing the X-Com magic.
-
I am having that problem too. I have downloaded it three times from two different servers. Tried the 3d geoscape that doesnt work.
-
what's your graphic card?
-
Just a note, I've got the same problem, different textures, covers Australia, NZ, and anything around that region really.
Specs incase it helps.
CPU 2.6GHz
RAM 2G
Newest UFOAI (downloaded a week ago approx)
Windows XP SP2 with directX 9.0c
Video is intel G33/G31 express chipset (I'm thinking that's the problem, I will be getting a video card soon)
I've tried all the graphics options, except 3d geoscape, will give that a try now.
-
try to activate texture compression
try to lower the texture resolution in the game video options
-
It covers Russia, Asia, and Oceania.
UPDATE:
Switch out of fullscreen/windowed. I found that fixes it, do not change any video settings after that. (I set to windowed, then back, comes up perfect)
