Destructible Environment

I never discovered any destructible object (except windows) during my fights. Are there really doors which can be opened by force?

All doors can be opened by force (I think). Though I usually try opening them before shooting them.

The access to the camera room on this map: http://ufoai.org/forum/index.php/topic,8808.0.html is blocked by a door that I could not open, only destroy.

Well, this gives some new possibilities. I never realized that closed doors can be opened by force. I will have to try this at different maps.

I guess aliens don't use explosives to open closed doors... at least I've never seen it. ... but once I blew up a door, do aliens use it as exit/entrance? ... does the AI have a 'path' through such open doors?

The AI definitely acts depending on the open/closed status. Destroyed or not present should count as open.
Once in mansion, when it still had the doors, a unit of mine opened a door. Then there was an alien right behind the door. I had no movement left and couldn't dispose of or disable this alien in any other way, I only had enough movement left to close the door again. It didn't attack on its turn though it could easily have killed me, which it certainly would have done, if only it had opened the door. (They do open/close doors sometimes, even those that should not be able to like hovernets - they don't have hands!)
