be able lease the technology to Countries and Corporations ;)

also randomly some firm can offer to buy the patent completely for huge price etc...

technology leasing maybe valuable income

as any deal such deals gets time limited
- obsolete technology leasing most likely aren't renewed after expire etc
- newest technology cost most to lease
(e.g. player may try demand higher price but other side may withdrawn)
etc.

of course to get this working there must be some plan for ingame global market both for UN / countries governments and commercial corporations ...

still i believe some simplified version of technology licensing
to improve the cash flow
this combined with option to lean some $ from bank(s)
