Attacking own base & Quick Save

1st off only found the game a week or 2 ago & love it.

1 of my unmaned bases got attacked & I sent my drop ship to get the aliens. But it gets weird ofter that, unable to see or select units.
Its happend twice to me. Game Saved before landing

Also if I start a new game & go into my base & do things (start research, assign & equip troops etc) & then go out of the base & try & save the game it goes straight back to the Single player Multi player menu & I have to start again. After the clock has run for a bit lonher I can then save the game.
