How X-Com killed my PS1
« on: November 14, 2006, 06:41:05 pm »
When PS1 hit the market in 1994, one of the 1st games available, was
X-Com UFO Defence.
Not much was known about the game at that time, and the instructions
were vauge at best.
This was one of my 1st PS1 purchases, and I still have the game today.

At the time, I lived with 2 of my buds in a large house, and we shared
all responsobilities in that house.

When the game started ... it was all over for us.

We divided all teams into 3 groups of 4 at 1st, and then 5 and then
had teams of our own.

We worked at the same job, and sometimes we worked at the same hours.
When we worked different shifts, the game console never got a rest, and
it seemed that the game was on all week while we played our own teams,
and even teamed up on certain missions.

This was the time when the PS1's started having problems with the 'eye'
burning up the arms on the track that it slides on.

So yes, wit the game on 24-7, it was bound to kill my brand new PS1 in a
matter of weeks.
