Playdeb repos for precise appear to be coming on right now (now downloading ufo:ai).

Yep, but their repo unfortunately still contains the old 2.3.1 version of UFO:AI.

Is that not the latest "official  stable release"? Which is what anyone would expect to get from there, in my opinion.

It still is.
But we will release v2.4.0 soon and everybody is encouraged to download the release candidate of v.2.4 from our Download page.
