Sourcetrunk review of UFO Alien Invasion : input wanted

Hi,
I'm preparing a review for the next Sourcetrunk Episode.
I've played the X-Com series extensively when I was younger , so reviewing UFO AI will be more pleasure than work :)
Anyhow, are there some aspects of this version that really shine and should really be pointed out in the review ? What should I especially look for ? I'm going to play it for a while but i allways helps to get input from the community before reviewing the software.

Are you testing the old v2.3.1 version or a recent v2.4dev build ?

There are some nice toys a long way down the research path that you likely won't see in a short-ish review playthrough, especially the newer aircraft types which take a long time to deploy because of the long sequence of resarch and build tasks that need to be completed. Also, some PHALANX weapons require as prerequisites alien tech which takes a while to appear.
H-Hour:
If you are playing 2.4 dev, please check out the alien base map. It is currently the end of the game, but you can play it in Skirmish mode whenever you'd like. Lots of improvements have been made to the graphics that you will see throughout the game (new particle effects, normalmaps on many textures), but the alien base is the first map that was built from the ground up to utilize the newest features of our engine. It's not next-gen or anything, but it shows the potential of the engine as it currently stands.
