Reordering squad?

Is there any way to change the order of my squad members? In 2.3.1 I had my No.1 with the Sniper Rifle, and I'm finding it annoying remembering that she's now No.4 (or 5... or something). Can I change their place in the squad? I know I can change the names to indicate this, but I like having standard squads, and when I get 2 or 3 bases with dropships I want them to have the same setup...

Currently not.
Your request is reasonable.
You may want to file a feature request at SF.
But then again...the 2.5 code already supports more than 8 soldiers. And the GUI changes. And so selecting soldiers by simply typing their number will eventually disappear, too.
Or how would you like to control a squad of 37 ?

well, you can exchange weapons.
my own solution was that all my soldiers had sniper rifle.

didn't check, because i really haven't felt like playing lately, but i think you can probably reorder soldiers when you fire/hire them, and probably also transfer.

Yes, but then you can't give the most skilled their preferred weapon.

Well.. been thinking a bit on this.... I *think* you can reorder your squad. Try adding them in the order you wanna see them to the dropship. We're adding them to the end of a list when you click the checkbox, there is no sorting there AFAIR..

Yes, that works, thanks! Had to re-equip everyone, but thanks to this, I actually found one of my 'unused' troopers (not assigned to a dropship, left on Base garrison) was actually a better Sniper...
