So I want to play the 2.4 dev version, is the only way to have the most up to date stuff to use git or does the windows installer get updated as well?

Our nightly Build is updated every night. So yes, it contains the newest stuff. ;)

Any note about when there will be a new stable build?
Seems like the last one is already more than a year old.

As soon as possible. :P
