Can't Install from Playdeb

(1/1)

AndreFourie:
Hi All
<--- Linux noob

Trying to install from Playdeb on Ubuntu 11.04

I get this message in Ubuntu Software Center:
Not Found
There isn't a software package called "Ufoai" in your current software sources

I have gone in to Synaptic and allowed "Everything", still no joy.

i have trolled the forum but not yet found a fix besides compiling it (absolutely no idea how to even start that, even with a tutorial)

Is there *Anywhere* else that i can get the download-able install-able Ubuntu version?

And before you jump, i have gone through the sourceforge and other links on this and playdeb sites

i play this game on windows but have migrated to Ubuntu at work, now looking to get the guys in the office in on the game

Godmonkey:
You needto install the playdeb package.

http://archive.getdeb.net/install_deb/playdeb_0.3-1~getdeb1_all.deb

Download that and run it with 'ubuntu software centere' or other package manager

After that you can get games from playdeb.

SharkD:
I'm having the same problem. The solution in post #2 did not work.

PlayDeb *does* appear in my list of Software Sources.

Ubuntu 11.10

samual:
Playdeb & Getdeb are offline since a while, don't know why...
