Slow Performance!

Wonderful game, but what's with the sluggish framerate?

My Specs:

Intel E8500
Radeon 5870
4Gigs Ram
SSD

at 1920x1200 I'm getting between 10 and 40 fps depending on the complexity of the scene.

It's not a bleeding-edge system, but it runs much more graphically complex games at much higher framerates than this.  As far as I can tell, I should be pushing triple digit fps.  Am I messing up some video settings? What settings do you recommend for my setup?

shadyguido:
I disabled GLSL shaders and all is well (though it's capped at 48fps for some reason).  Is there any setting I can tweak in the Radeon drivers or in-game that would allow me to recapture teh shiny shaders?

From what I understand, Radeons don't have a full openGL 2.0 implementation?  Or is it something else?

MCR:
Currently the only thing you can do to get acceptable framerates and 'shiny shaders' is to get yourself a Nvidia gfx-card as all ATI users have to suffer at the moment ;)

jerikojerk:
i do not confirm slow rate & ati card with propriary driver on ubuntu.

Do you have shaders, rt lighting and postprocessing fx activated ?
If yes, what is your average framerate and which ATI card do you have ?
