Is there any other way to get the source that does not imply using svn? It's a huge download, and it would be convenient to get it through a download manager (and thus be able to start or resume it at will)

svn can resume whenever you want, too - it will always only download a delta, so if you stop after 10%, it will not try to get these 10% again.
no, there is no other way to get all the needed files.

how can I start and stop the svn download, then? I don't get that option either with the command line or the frontends...

Thanks everyone. I managed to take a third option, browsing sourceforge's svn, and then downloading the source in a tarball in downthemall ( I say this in case anyone has problems with the svn client, as I did)
