What does this icon mean?
« on: July 03, 2010, 12:32:46 am »
Hi

Can somebody tell me what this icon means?

#

It replaces the standard base icon since there was a "Terrormission", but which got loaded as a base attack (bug?). I won the mission, and now there's a red circle. ???

Edit: It seems i don't have access to the storag room and quarters, only to the hangar and rocket gun. How can I fix this?

My guess is that your command center and maybe other facilities too were destroyed during base attack.

Uaah!! Uahh!!!

Where can I see if it's destroyed?

Look at this sexy screenshot, it doesn't seem it's destroyed! The Aliens didn't came into the base or command center, I killed them all at the entrance.

What does this mean?
Is there a patch? Should I download a dev version? Or is my save state now corrupt? :(

That means the problem is known and fixed in the codebase (SVN). The fix will be included in 2.3.1.
You can also download the source an compile a fresh 2.3 build for yourself.

Your savegame corrupted, yes, sorry.

To avoid this happening again (as a workaround), do automission or skip missions which loads a baseattack map and not baseattacks themselves. Don't rely on quicksave in this, it's autosaved when entering a battle, it may save corruped quicksave too.

This happened to me as well. Shortly afterwards I had a real base defense mission and base functionality was restored after I finished that mission. (it must have reset something).

yes, that's possible. "Normal" baseattack mission handles base status correctly.

Any problems with the base aside from base attacks? I ask this because I got a mission in Mexico about a base attack, and my HQ was in China, so I flew to Mexico to defend the base and it turned out to be my base somehow. So I won the mission, figuring it was just a fluke, but then my HQ in China had the red circle around it and all the buildings were non-functional because the computer thought my base was still under attack, even though it wasn't that base that got attacked. Any ideas?

Well the issue involved in this thread is about bases still being destroyed or wrecked after defended them. I'm talking about having my base being under attack even though no one is attacking it.

I think you're experiencing this bug which has been fixed in the latest dev version.  I seem to remember that the workaround for now is if you see a terror mission that's described as a base attack, you need to either automission it or skip it completely.
