How are "decided" the type of map we get, since few aliens (or current trunk version) my game starts to show me a new (type of) map every mission instead of the 5 repetitives one i get before.

i don't know what happens but it renew the game pleasure. ;D

The process is called RMA or random map assembly.
The maps with a '+' like '+farm' are RMAs.
In the base/maps dir you can see the tiles that the maps are composed of.

Mattn:
there were some maps that were chosen too often, because no missions without an ufo were spawned early in the campaign. this has changed now
