But as a MILSPEC brownie you can bet the farm it'll be edible from -65F to +165F, but Congreff will only approve funding for a dozen that'll have to be issued to Joint Service Commands. 
It makes me wonder what else they could survive...
I can picture a military cook carrying a tray walking into a room full of hungry soldiers, in some camp or other place near a combat zone:
"OK everybody, look what I baked! Here, have a few, dig in!"
** ( Atomic bomb goes off nearby ) **
** ( Soldiers crawl out from underneath rubble ) **
"[COUGH] [COUGH] Phew! So much for our camp! Boy that sure put a hole in the Earth, why, that bomb must have - Hey! Dude! Look - The brownies survived! [chomp!] And they still taste OK! Cool!"
